Photo Favors
Tuesday, February 15th, 2011
It seems everyone is looking for a new and different kind of wedding favor. Two of the latest trends are photo booths and photo flipbooks.
Photo booths
Classic, 1950s-styled photo booths bring the fun into your reception. Guests use a touch screen to select black and white or color photo strips, six poses per session. Photos can also be customized with a logo or graphic, such as a monogram.
In 15 seconds photo booths give guests a great keepsake. Or, the photos can be used to help create a picture guest book.
Since the booths weigh about 750 pounds, where they can be used is limited. There must be direct access without stairs. Also, while they can be used indoors or out, they do require electricity.
Flip Books
With flipbooks, guests interact with each other using fun props to create a series of photos in a 10 foot x 10 foot studio setting. In about 2 minutes, images are compiled into a flipbook that mimics motion as the pages are flipped. With the use of green screens, any backdrop can be put in the book.
With both items the process is the same as that used by professional photographers, so the photos last. Also, since both photo booths and flipbooks are based on digital photography, all the photos are recorded and electronic files can be provided for your use after the event.
Whether you choose flipbooks or a photo booth, you’ll be giving your guests a favor they will never forget.

Arriving in style
Monday, January 10th, 2011Every bride wants to arrive at her wedding in style. For most brides this means a limousine or carriage. But what if that isn’t your style? For many couples who are planning smaller weddings, a limousine may be more elaborate than they want. Fortunately, today’s brides have more options than in the past, not only for themselves, but also for their guests.
Many limo companies now offer other vehicles. From full-size luxury cars and sports cars to vans and mini-buses, you can contract for a variety of vehicles. Not only does this give the bride and groom more options, it can also make transportation easier to arrange for the wedding party and out-of-town guests.
After arranging a limousine for the the bridal couple, consider contracting for luxury sedans for the parents of the bride and groom. This will allow them to relax a little, enjoy the reception and not have to worry about driving or parking. If you don’t want to rent a car, consider renting a driver. Some limo companies will rent their chauffeurs out to drive your vehicles. This allows your wedding party or family to use their own cars, but not have to worry about doing the driving and parking. Not all companies provide this service, so you may have to make some calls to find one that does.
Another idea, if you have a lot of out-of-town guests, is to arrange for a mini-bus to transport them from the hotel to the wedding and reception. This will be greatly appreciated by guests unfamiliar with San Antonio who may not know how to get to the church or reception site.
Contracting transportation or drivers for your parents, attendants and guests not only makes the day a little easier for them, if you are serving alcoholic beverages it allows them to enjoy the reception and still get home safe and sound.

Austin's World of Rentals
A fully equipped rental store will have a wide selection of wedding accessories, including: arches and huppahs, kneeling benches, candelabra in assorted sizes and styles, plant stands, aisle runners and standards, wedding canopies, gazebos, artificial greenery and flowers.
Tell your rental specialist how many guests you’ve invited to the reception and the square footage of the room where it will be held. With this information they can accurately plan your seating and serving arrangements.

Aztec Events & Tents
If you’re planning an outdoor reception, you may want to rent a tent, possibly even a section of wooden flooring for dancing. A deposit may be required to reserve specific pieces. Set tentative delivery, set-up and pick-up times. Confirm these the week before the wedding.
A word about renting: charges are usually for time out, whether used or not. Most prices quoted are for a one day charge and you will be responsible for set-up and knockdown of all items rented, unless you make special arrangements with your rental store.
Your rental professional will provide you with everything you need to create a truly memorable affair. Trust their advice – they plan more parties in a year than most people plan in a lifetime.

Capture the fun with a photo booth
Tuesday, November 30th, 2010Trends to personalize your wedding are all the rage, and photo booths are here to stay. Brides are opting for photo booths to add a little pizazz to their reception.
Renting a photo booth for your wedding and adding fun props to the booth can really liven things up. Personalizing them will allow your guests to really get into the photo booth and create great photos and lasting memories from your wedding.
Some of the perks of having a photo booth at your wedding are instant printing, giving your guests something to take with them as a keepsake . Hill Country Photo Booths in Austin offers a DVD of all the photos of the night for you to keep after your wedding. They are great icebreakers at the wedding as well. Your families can get to know each other and take fun photos to hold onto as memories. The booths don’t take up much space at all, so there are no worries on where to put it.
If you want something more, flip books are another great addition to add to your reception. They capture all that a photo booth does in a small hand held flip book that replays your fun times with every turn of the page. Loco Motion Flipbooks in San Antonio and On the Flipside in Austin offer flip book booths for your wedding reception.

Stretch Your Wedding Budget by Renting
Monday, April 6th, 2009Engaged couples long for a wedding day that will be unique and memorable, but in these tough economic times many are becoming more cautious about how they plan and spend their budget.
According to The Wedding Report, a research company that tracks wedding spending in the United States, the average cost of a wedding in 2008 was $21,814. That is a 24 percent decline over the 2007 average of $28,704. This decline doesn’t mean you can’t have exactly what you want on your big day to create your dream wedding.
“You can rent almost anything you need to make your wedding match your vision,” says Christine Wehrman, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Rental Association (ARA), the global trade association for the rental industry. “By renting items for your wedding, you have access to products that may have otherwise been too expensive in large quantities. You can get exactly what you want at a price that meets your budget.”
Choose linens that match your wedding colors, or go for classic white to offset the color of your centerpieces. Linens can be rented in a variety of colors and textiles, and add a touch of elegance to every space. Create drama without adding cost by creating a monochromatic design for your table.
Centerpieces can be elegant or casual, depending on your style. Mix tall and short clear vases to add depth to your table and save money on large floral arrangements. Or choose a variety of candleholders to create a vintage-inspired look and a romantic, low-light atmosphere.
Planning an outdoor wedding? Tents can transform any setting into striking surroundings for your big day. ARA member rental businesses have a variety of tents to create the venue, as well as everything you need to make it beautiful and comfortable.
Large tents and elegant canopies come in a variety of colors and styles. Many come with cathedral ceilings, windows or even clear tops — allowing guests to catch a glimpse of a dramatic sunset or a sparkling night sky.
Many ARA member rental stores offer personalized service through their Certified Event Rental Professionals (CERPs) who are specially trained to help you choose the right rentals to make your dream wedding come to fruition. Most offer on-site support the day of your wedding, and that’s a day you’ll be looking for all the support you can get!
You can also rely on the expertise of your ARA member rental store professionals before you book your venue. They can help you assess the potential site for things like power accessibility, ground water issues or overhead power lines that may interfere with your vision of a tall tent, among other situations.
The wonderful experience and memories of your wedding day will be yours to own forever. And everything else? Well, that you can rent! To find your local Austin wedding rental companies, click here.
