It’s quite amazing where one can garner inspiration. As with many water coolers in similar offices throughout the country, a series of books has been on the lips of quite a few people here in our offices.  With subtle snickers and awkward glances, we all know where various readers are in the book. And it is amazing how what used to be everyday words in their usage, have now turned into buzz words that bring to recall slightly blushing moments during a work day.

 

And if you haven’t figured out what books we are talking about, then you haven’t read them. Of course we are talking about 50 Shades of Grey.

 

And because it is the trending pop culture influence of the moment, we felt it deserved its just do as an inspiration in the wedding industry.  So in the spirit of such a sexy series of books, that ultimately is a great love story, here are some boards that we find delicious.

 

In this board, we love the grey pearls, and the reverse effect on the pearl studded wedding cake.

We also took note on the zig zag design that pops up recently. It is a simple graphic element that adds tons of interest.

 

 

This board reminds us that you can take a typical looking item like a mirror, and turn it into something else…like a chalkboard,

perhaps to use for your dinner menu. We also love the graphic print linen in grey and white. The strong contrast provides classy drama.

 

 

Who says your gown has to be white? Look at this gorgeous number with upswept hair. We think it was flawlessly styled.

And take a look at the filagree pewter shade mask that adorns the table.  Because grey is such a neutral color, it really adds an aire of refinement.

 

 

And finally, take a look at this last board.  What you might typically think of as a color strictly used for nighttime occasions,

this board shows how to use the color gray during the day.  The white against the gray tones make them look extra crisp and fresh.

 Who wouldn’t want to see their man in a Cary Grant inspired grey suit? Once again, notice the zig zag element in the table runner.

We think we’ll be seeing this trend a whole lot more by year’s end.

 

 

So just remember, you can find beautiful inspiration in just about any place. It can even be found in the pages of the salacious story of Christian and Anastasia. Find what inspires you and use that to catapult you in your wedding planning.
